Hellooo - doing this because so many people have suggested it. We recently got a quote from a few different surgeons in the Boston area saying that getting a double TECA surgery for Gigi would be close to 25k….. 😭😭😭
Every time we go for a consultation, it’s another $400 and even when we go to the vet to try to get temporary relief it’s at least $500 every time.
they can’t do both ears at one time given how small her head is so the cost of the anesthesia ends up being really pricey and it is a pretty complicated surgery because they have to remove her ear canal in it’s entirety leaving her deaf in both ears.
When we first brought Gigi home, we discovered that she had been living with untreated ear infections for a long time. These chronic infections caused severe damage to her ears, leaving her with painful internal issues and external scar tissue that gives her ears their adorably droopy look. Sadly, these infections have progressed so deeply that her only hope for relief is a Total Ear Canal Ablation (TECA) surgery—an intense procedure that will remove her damaged ear canals to end the constant pain and suffering.
The estimated cost for this surgery, including consultations, post-op care, and medications, is upwards of $25,000. We’re heartbroken that Gigi has to go through this, but we know this surgery is her only chance at a pain-free life.
We’re humbly asking for your support in helping us cover the costs of Gigi’s surgery and recovery. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will go directly toward giving her the healthy, happy life she deserves.
